National Ideological Security Relationship: Strategic Analysis on Ideological Security of China on a “New Cold War” Trend

  • Ideology is a symbolic form of state power, which contains profound national interests as well as an important strategic component and existence form of modern nations. The nature of different countries is defined by their ideologies. A modern nation’s every action can be attributed to its ideology. It is in this sense that ideological security is of special value for safeguarding national security. National ideological security relation reflects nations’ power relationship composed of different ideological security systems and policies among different countries. Capitalism and socialism are the two major ideological systems in today’s world which constitute the main institutional leverage of national ideological security relationships. Trade protectionism is an economic ideology. In the name of " national security”, trade protectionism has become a new ideology in the process of globalization and is evolving into a trend of " new cold war”. China-US economic and trade relations are at the core of the national ideological security relations under the trend of " new cold war”.
