The Communication Practice and Development Logic of Network Society in China

Abstract: Chinese network society has experienced two stages of development: learning starting and large-scale expansion. In the first stage, the development of Chinese network society is mainly manifested in the learning, introduction and imitation of Western network technology and network behavior. In the second stage, Chinese network society has gone out of its own development path. Chinese sociology draws lessons from Western sociological theories and gives a refreshing explanation to the first stage of network society in China. However, faced with the second stage with its own national characteristics, if Chinese sociology continues to use the research results of Western network sociology to explain the development and changes of Chinese network society, it will lead to the problem of inaccurate theoretical explanation. In fact, the development of Chinese network society is driven by the practice of online social interaction by the masses. We should study Marx’s views on the value, function and problems of social interaction practice, pay attention to the new situation of networking, digitalization and intelligent development, investigate the development form, essential characteristics and development logic of Chinese network society, and promote the theoretical innovation of Chinese sociological research.
