The Future of the Study of Global Governance: A Comparative and Reflective Perspective

Abstract: This essay reflects on the evolution of the study of Global Governance (GG) since at least 1990s to the present. The study is a most prominent discipline. The GG originated from the International Relations (IR) and helped transform the IR. However, the future of the GG studies is getting complex. Its relevance, sustainability and certainty are now questionable. The practice of GG is in complexcrises. The essay focuses on the existing GG scholarship in order to know complex approaches to the world’s complexity, polycentricityand pluralism. It mentions the current discussions on the future of the GG as a field and tries to conclude by proposing a GG research agenda: towards a sustainable complex global concerts/conferences of actors and stakeholders to innovate the study of global governance in 21st century.
