Abstract
Art Theory as a discipline has a short history of over ten years in China. This discipline both stimulates an exciting development and encounters some difficulties. One of the conditions of humanities should be a systematic and abundant “standard literature” for study. Compared with aesthetics, art history, or literary theory, the construction and research for literature or resources in the field of Art Theory are relatively lagging and scarce. Therefore, an important work is to establish solid foundation of research sources for the discipline. It is a responsibility of the scientific community to find a new path of construction of standard literature for Art Theory with Chinese characteristics.
