Abstract
The socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics is an all-dimensions democracy. As the essence of democracy, all-dimensions democracy would be possible only under the rule of proletariat. Political democracy which centered in election is a kind of limited democracy. All-dimensions democracy is a unity of political democracy, economic democracy and social life democracy with its comprehensive, all-fields and all-process attributes. All-dimensions democracy is inherent in the social history of China for it is rooted in the people’s politics. The socialist democracy is the organic combination of elective democracy and consultative democracy.
