Objects and Relations of Socio-spatial Production in the Historical Materialist Perspective——Interpretation of Lefebvre’s The Production of Space
-
Abstract
Unlike nature, which has only physical existence, the essence of social reality is precisely the social relations on top of the physical reality, which are non-intuitive,so it will be manifested in the form of complex abstractions and fan-generalized relations. This is precisely what is most difficult to understand about historical materialism. This is the basis of the core view of Lefebvre’s theory of social space, that spatial existence is the field of relations, and that spatial production is the production and reproduction of social relations, which is a new kind of existential theory of the field of social relations in the spatial problem. The essence of social space is the relationship between human beings and the world, between human beings and human beings, and the space itself, which contains natural existences and social products, embodies the relationship and contains the relationship, and under certain historical conditions, spatial fetishism obscures the relationship or falsifies the pseudo-association.This is a very complex spatial field construction.
