Anti-Japanese War Lyrics: The Poetic Style’s Characteristics of the Coexistence of Literature and Music

Abstract
Anti-Japanese War lyrics represent a kind of rhyming poetic style that combines poetry and music. They utilize the call mode conducive to political mobilization, stimulate the emotional identity of the Chinese national community through the vocative, evoke the fighting spirit of the army and the people through the imperative sentence, and frequently use interjections that highlight the musicality to enhance the audience’s emotional experience.Musicians arrange rhymes suitable for singing to free verse, ballads, and new rhythmic verse, making the lyrics both “the sound of speech” and “the sound of song”.The Anti-Japanese War lyrics emphasize musical rhythm and the harmony of rhymed words;use the collocation of content words and function words, focusing on light and stressed syllables, ensuring that the recitation and singing rhythms align. These lyrics represent a symbiosis of literature and music, and are an aesthetic legacy of modern poetry,as explored by poets and musicians during the war era,and hold a special place in the history of modern poetry.
