Lu Xun in “Talks at the Yan‘an Forum on Art and Literature”
-
Abstract
“Talks at the Yan‘an Forum on Art and Literature”(“Talks”) was published on the seventh anniversary of Lu Xun‘s death in 1943,together with a series of memorial ceremony held in the liberated areas for Lu Xun,it provided important support for the production and reproduction of power. In the “Talks” published in Liberation Daily,Lu Xun‘s name appeared twelve times in seven places, two of which were quoted in full conformity with Lu Xun‘s original meaning, and five of which were creative interpretations. These quotes became an important source of the ideas, logic and authority of the “Talks”.However,Lu Xun is after all a distinctive thinker, and the discourse constructed by “Talks” has unavoidable conflicts and entanglements with the structure of Lu Xun‘s own discourse. Therefore, the incorporation of Lu Xun‘s discourse in “Talks” becomes a complex issue worth studying.
