Why and How to Return Family:The Redemption of Modernity
-
Abstract
Family is a word that affects people's complex emotions. As a philosophical study,we need to suspend the daily awareness, historical mechanism and social science research of family,to clarify family as a philosophical concept, and reveal the feature of family as a basic structure of human existence.Modernity is based on the logic of “leaving home”.The priority of the individual as the subject originated from Protestant theology and deepened in modern philosophy. However, the deep-seated crisis of the individual-subject gave birth to modern nihilism.Based on the interpretation of redemption in the Chinese perspective,a plan for the redemption of modernity originating from the Chinese(language)-world is given, and “returning-family” has become a new direction of this kind of redemption.Under the guidance of this perspective,Western philosophy also reveals a salvation path based on family.Ultimately,we must reveal the warmth aspect of human existence based on “family ontology”.
